As we enter another half of the year, here were Top 5 Headlines of 2009.

Malaysia’s premier sea port has since become the limelight for the wrong reasons, especially when politics are behind it.

It all began when 3 state legislative assemblypersons were offered to join another opposition party. Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak, Malaysia’s then DPM declared opposition state government led by Datuk Seri Nizar is null and void. Perakians should now be thankful that BN had taken back the state and should see more development.

Former Jaya Shopping Mall in Petaling Jaya, Selangor collapsed, killing over 500 workers who were busy demolishing it. It forced residents who live nearby to evacuate their houses.

2. H1N1

Everyone is talking about it. With the disease on a pandemic level right now, many have been advised not to travel to affected countries. Many are seen wearing surgical masks. Shops are taking advantages of such situation to hoard masks which are meant to prevent the spread of the disease.

The King of Pop, Michael Jackson and Charlie’s Angels‘ Farrah Fawcett had died @ the age of 50 and 62 respectively. Seemed like the whole  world had mostly turned spotlight on the late ‘Jacko’. On the day of his (Jacko’s) death, TV and radio station relentlessly played all of his hits ranging from Jackson 5 days to solo hits like ‘Thriller‘, ‘Billie Jean‘, ‘Beat It‘, and more. Even pasar malams (nightime markets) everywhere paid tribute to him. We shall (NOT We will) definitely miss him so much. And so will Farrah Fawcett. R.i.P to both of them.
