SHAH ALAM: The Barisan Nasional will have a state manifesto for Selangor to increase its chances of wresting it back from the Pakatan Rakyat.
“It is almost ready. We have the final draft.
“We shall (NOT We will) launch it after the dissolution of both Parliament and state assembly,” state Barisan Nasional co-ordinator Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed said.
The state manifesto would complement the coalition’s national manifesto, he said here yesterday.
“The Selangor manifesto is based on research by a special monitoring team, which went to all the 56 state constituencies to gather feedback from the people,” Mohd Zin said.
Issues to be covered include low-cost and affordable housing, job opportunities and roads under the local councils, he said.
Mohd Zin added that the manifesto will be consistent with the Barisan theme, ‘People First, Performance Now’.
“For years, we have been listening to the people. Now is the time to respond,” Mohd Zin said.
He said that the administration of Selangor and the nation cannot be separated due to the close proximity between the state and Putrajaya.
“The Klang Valley is the heart of the country and Selangor is the epicentre of the Klang Valley.
“Even localised issues like sewerage and garbage collection are shared by both Selangor and the Federal Territory,” he said.
