At 1130 today, on the 4th anniversary of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak as the Prime Minister of Malaysia, he officially declared the Parliament dissolved. This is something that we (Malaysians) have been looking forward to lately. Good thing for him to celebrate his 4th year as PM to make that announcement. The Melaka State Legislative Assembly followed suit exactly four hours later on the same day. Last week, Negeri Sembilan created history when its State Legislature (DUN) dissolved automatically. Tomorrow, Selangor Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim is expected to dissolve the Selangor DUN, followed by other states except Sarawak. Terengganu on the other hand will announce the dissolution after Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (Tuanku Halim’s predecessor) comes home from his overseas trip.
After suffering huge losses in the XII general elections, including spin-off by-elections, Najib and the reenergised Barisan Nasional are ready to reclaim all the parliamentary and DUN seats which are currently held by Pakatan Rakyat. Will BN succeed this time?
