Alhamdulillah (Thank God) It’s Friday Night!!! Went the line of Nsync‘s “Just Got Paid”. I know most of you are making the last minute preparation for THAT big day. Polling Day for Malaysia to be exact. I am sure you are eager to balik ke kampung to exercise your obligation to our beloved Malaysia. The Philippines will have their polling day on the 13th of May, when we (Malaysians) mark 44th anniversary of tragic clashes that changed the political landscape of Malaysia.
The first thing that comes to one’s mind everytime the election season is upon us, “Which constituency are you going to cast your vote?”. For me, I shall (NOT will) be voting in Kampung Tunku, who is being held by incumbent Lau Weng San from DAP. Kampung Tunku is a state legislative assembly constituency under the Petaling Jaya Utara parliamentary constituency. Tony Pua Kim Wee is a DAP incumbent parliamentarian. Another state constituency within PJU is Damansara Utama, who was last sat in by Dr Cheah Wing Yin. But I think both Pua and Lau won’t deserve another shot of serving the people as rival BN candidate, Chew Hoong Ling and Kelvin Chong who are vying for their respective PJU and Kampung Tunku seats will prove to the people of these constituents that they can and will deliver their all. I first voted in Kampung Tunku back in 2004, in which Wong Sai Hau won the XI MyGE. The second time was in 2008, the year the XII MyGE was held. BN lost all three seats (PJU, Kampung Tunku, and Damansara Utama) to DAP, thus creating the “Rocket Wave.” All the best to both of you, Hoong Ling and Mr Kelvin Chong. Not forgetting Mr Pua and Mr Lau!
