Today marks the state leaders in both states, Johor and Selangor . What is more interesting though as the name shares similarity with each other, but with a different spelling. Former higher education minister and Pasir Gudang parliamentarian, Datuk Khaled Nordin, having won his Permas state legislative assembly seat [N43(J)] was sworn in today as the 15th menteri besar of Johor, succeeding four-term Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman, who lost his Gelang Patah parliamentary seat [P162] to Lim Kit Siang, DAP de facto leader. Another one is Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, who also swore in for a second term of menteri besar of Selangor, after winning the Pelabuhan Klang state seat . During his first term, he won the Ijok seat. He also defended parliamentary seat of Bandar Tun Razak [P124] in the 13th General Election [XIII MyGE].
