Come 25th October, Prime Minister cum Finance Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak will be unveiling next year’s budget to cope with the impending price hike of essential goods. Here, I list what to expect during his tabling.
ROAD TAX REBATES
It was given out during the fuel price hike in 2008. It should be reintroduced for the sake of the people, especially the lower-income ones.
SATURDAY PARKING CHARGE WAIVERS
Selangor first implemented it since 2005, when the government introduced the 5-day working week. It should be extended nationwide. This way, it will save local authorities (PBTs) a big sum of ringgit (bucks) if this proposal is accepted. So, this is the time for the PBTs to hono[u]r Saturdays by doing away with parking charges in PBT-controlled parking areas.
REBATES for PUBLIC TRANSPORT COMMUTERS USING TOUCH n GO
I hope those abovementioned things will bring relief to the public.
